Chepstow Plant International are looking to recruit an experienced HSE manager to further support and develop the current HSE standards within the business. The position will report directly into the managing director and work closely with our operational team across the UK. The position will also work closely with our award-winning learning and development department, to collaborate and strive for parallel standards for both safety and competency.
Job Roles / Duties:
- Review current Health, Safety and Environmental
policies and procedures and ensuring they are best practice and being
implemented across the business.
- Engaging with employees across the business ensuring
all HSE responsibilities are clear whilst also answering any technical HSE related
enquiries.
- Keeping up to date with latest key legislation
and ensuring the organisation remains compliant.
- Engage with national forums and governing bodies
for industry impact and development.
- Carry out site inductions, audits and
inspections.
- Take the lead on any incident investigations,
identify route causes and report back into senior managers, directors and other
key stakeholders.
- Support the development of measurement systems
to ensure that HSE performance is accurately measured, analyse and improved
upon.
- Monitor, assess and improve where necessary all HSE documentation,
including dynamic point of work risk assessments.
- Maintain and update HSE management systems
and audit against ISO standards.
- Share and collaborate with key stakeholders in the business to achieve best practice and implement any new innovative HSE ideas.
Requirements:
- 5 years+ experience within a HSE manager role.
- 10 years+ experience within the mineral extractives industry.
- NEBOSH certified.
- NVQ Level 5 / QCF Level 7.
- Member of IOSH.
- Strong technical knowledge across relevant health, safety and
environmental legislation, compliance, and regulations.
- Competent in audits and reporting.
- Competent IT skills, including excel and analytics.
